Edirol R-09 New Firmware 1.31
« on: June 05, 2008, 12:11:59 AM »
I was just browsing and it looks like there is a version 1.31 firmware for the R-09.  As I maintain the FAQ, does anyone know the differences between 1.30 and 1.31?  (I did do a quick forum search and didn't see a thread). Thanks

Wow- that's a nice new feature. I just bought a CA-modded R-09 winging its way to me soon, too! :>

Nice, I was worried they'd not finalize 16/32gig support with another release with the new HR version.  I'll get on this.

The internal mics.  What else, if anything, I don't know.  There's a thread around here somewhere, maybe in Retail Space.
DPA 4060 (CS HEB) > CS BB > Edirol R-09

Backups:  DPA 4060 (1/8"), SP-BMC-2, SP-SPSB-6, Sony MZ-NH1

Thanks for the heads-up on the new firmware.  It took me a while to figure out how to update the R-09, and it's bizarre that the owner's manual doesn't tell you how to do it.  I finally figured it out thanks to this thread: http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,91303.0.html  but I didn't know that updating your firmware resets your R-09 to its factory settings, and I didn't figure that out until I was out recording a show last night.  Thankfully there was an opening band and I was planning on recording in 16/44.1 anyway, otherwise I'd have been pretty pissed at myself for such a dumb mistake.
