That's news to me!

i can't give you specifics on the mod but i do know that doug built this 248 and sat it on the shelf for 10 years. he said he spent 10 years formulating an upgrade and finally got around to doing it. kind of a proof of concept deal.

Is this the same unit?

Just curious on what your setting were on the M248 and SD 702 on that WSP recording. I only had one chance to record and the recording sounds fantastic but me volume levels came out quite low.

i had the 248 cranked and i could have easily added some gain with the 702 but chose not to. i've pretty much figured out that this particular 248 provides a max of 30db of gain, maybe just 25.

Cool - that is what I thought and was told by Nick that this pre-amp can be cranked.
My next opportunity won't me May 17th!
FYI = the WSP recording sounds nice!
