Festival Taping Tips
« on: July 03, 2004, 11:57:35 PM »
So I'm going to be taping a couple outdoor shows from the General Admission/Floor/Pit section and was wondering if anyone had any tips for taping outside other than bring extra batteries/tapes as I've never taped outdoors before.

I'll be running Sonic Studios Omni Mics, nice and stealthy as taping is not allowed.
Would you reccomend standing near the speaker stacks on the sides of the stage, or in the center?  I won't really have time to test around as I'll be taping the opening bands as well...

Any tips/hints/experiences welcome-

stacks.  though you should probably test out how that version of SS mics, fare against a stack.  my sonics will handle a festival type stack no problem.  others may not be able to handle it.

If you don't have rain gear a garbage bag can be a quick poncho. I ran my dat from the roo pouch of a hoody  and a grabage bag ponch would be better than nothing at keeping the water off.
