Topic: Touching Mics, and clips

Got a bit of an issue with a recording I made.

Have a listen to the first track, particularly the start. It was an outdoor gig and I used the "mufflers", cannot for the life of me think of the name at the minute. The black bits!!
At the start there is a kind of blowing sound in places, but I think it was actually me fiddling with the mics, and maybe being a bit too rough as they had the covers on.  Is there any good way of reducing this with post editing? This leads me onto my second question, my clips for my stealth mics, came with the mics (for an extra charge). They dont tend to hold the mics very well ( I clip them normally to my chest area on a shirt, coat etc. I tend to fiddle with them constantly throughout a gig as they tend to point sideways and all sorts. Are my clips dodgy, or do I need to clip them to tougher clothes?

Screens.

You shouldn't touch the mics / screens while taping, it always comes out on the recording.

You can reduce the volume in an editing program, or cut out the parts completely if no music is affected.

Where are you mounting the mics? I find they stay put if collar mounted.

FWIW, I went from SP-CMC4 (AT853) to DPA 4061's and in my tests the difference in 'handling noise' was dramatic.  The ATs were very sensitive, the 4061 not very.

Basically, don't touch anything unless you have no choice and then, hopefully, only between songs.
