Can someone tell me exactly what this thing does. Does it have and a/d converter? Anyone ever used one?

Can't tell you what it does, but I can tell you what it does not: convert analog to digital. It only has digital ins and outs (AES and BNC are digital connections).
I'm not sure, but it looks like a way of combining inputs into a single output, those inputs being remotely selectable via the multi-pin interface.

Anyone ever use one of these? I found one for $65 and was wondering if it would be possible to run multiple digital sources to one AES out for an on the fly digital matrix? Not sure I would ever want to do that but might be fun to tinker with a 6 mic array to a v-3 and two mini-me's >dmix 41>AES to a bit bucket.
