Decision between the ADK Vienna LE and the ADK TL-MP
« on: June 17, 2005, 04:06:16 PM »
I am getting ready to purchase mics right now and need some input from you folks.  The ADK mics have come up in conversation more than once as being the mic of choice for the price range so I have anrrowed it down to the ADK Vienna LE and the ADK TL-MP.

I am going to be doing about about 50% studio type band recording, 25% vocal story recording, and 25% taping of shows.  The prices that I am looking at new for these mics are $499 for the Viennas and $780 for the TL-MPs.  Do you folks think that the extra $281 for the TL-MPs is worth it in my situation?  Also, I haven't heard of any sound quality comparisons between the Vienna and the TLs.

Thanks in adavance,

Adam

The TLs are definitely worth it. You get 4 mic patterns instead of 1 wth the Viennas. They're also matched pairs (hence the "MP"), which will be even more useful in doing studio work.

The ADK Vienna LE is a matched set also.

That is what I am trying to weigh.  Are the 4 pickup patterns worth the extra $280?
