Best LD Shockmount ever?

this mount looks pretty bad-ass.  It's supposed to really clear up rumble rumble from 15-30Hz.  Seems like a nice upgrade for our type of applications where low frequencies can really muddy up a recording.

They are quite expensive though. $270/mount

edit: I wonder how heavy it is? secondly I wonder how if the material the mount is made of would affect the HF response.  lots of flat surfaces for HF reflections.....

It's not really a shock mount.  It's designed to reduce the subsonic frequencies generated by things like the movement of the bands of a traditional shock mount down around 20-30Hz.  So actually it's just a super fancy rigid mic clip that also helps keep an LD body from resonating quite so much.

Only thing is, it will not keep structural noise (bumping the stand, etc) from reaching the mic and being absorbed.  You'd still need to shock mount the stand somehow.

Not sure the tradeoff would be worth it (although the combination of a shockmounted stand and this thing sure would be cool!)
