where to start if recording on a laptop??

Can anyone direct me to a begineers guide of some sort on how to record to a laptop??

Thanks looks like it will be alot cheaper just to wait and find a used JB3 and go at it that way thanks again!!!

why did you specifically want to use a laptop?  24 bits?  Already own one?
