Hi All,
We have released new firmware for the V3 which brings it up to the current IEC-958 and AES3 specifications.
This will solve the reported problems with the M-Audio MTII and the Sony PCM-D50. Upgrading the frimware in the V3 requires replacing a chip inside the unit.
You can view the instructions for the firmware upgrade here:http://64.207.49.66/documents/v3/Grace_Design_Lunatec_V3_Firmware_Upgrade_Procedure.pdf (http://64.207.49.66/documents/v3/Grace_Design_Lunatec_V3_Firmware_Upgrade_Procedure.pdf)
If you feel uncomfortable performing this procedure feel free to contact us and we can arrange to have your unit upgraded here at the factory. Otherwise go to:http://www.gracedesign.com/support/V3/V3_firmware.htm (http://www.gracedesign.com/support/V3/V3_firmware.htm) and fill out the online form. We will mail you an upgrade package promptly.
There is no charge for this upgrade.
Cheers,
Michael
EDIT: The link to the instructions should work now...

Quality, service and support absolutely second to none.
Thanks Mike!

I don't have any Grace gear... yet. But all I can say is Awesome! Great to see this level of product support. Rare in the computer industry, and even more rare in the audio industry.

anybody do this themselfs yet?
if its as easy as they say it is...i'll do it myself.
-
Yes, and it way easer than I thought it would be. So far I think only two of use have changed our chips. Myself (test on a MTII) and scyue (test on a D-50) tested the chip.
-
I just filled the form out. I'm pretty confident this will be easy to accomplish.
Thanks Grace!

Outstanding.
Although I've only used it a few times, like many here love this piece of gear and although I already invision other Grace gear in my future, this only confims my previous impression of top quality, service and commited support.
Thank you MG.

Thanks for the excellent support. However, do you think it is easy enough for this guy to do

The link to the installation instructions in the first post should work now...
Sorry about that.
-
Thank, Michael. Glad I own a V3. Sounds great and I get excellent customer service.
-
easy enough for a caveman but, I don't know about LSU fan ;D
-
Can someone post the instructions? I thought the procedure was on the website, so I threw away all documents that came w/ the chip. The PDF link above does not work anymore.
I opened the V3 and only see one chip that looks like the one to replace, but I'm not trying to damage the board.
Thanks

Hey there, here is the V3 firmware upgrade procedure attached. That chip you are looking at is probably the one to change.
Let me know if you have any trouble!
