Title: Question about XY with ADK A51S's.......
Post by: Tye on April 09, 2004, 07:43:38 PM
So I am starting to experiment with my new A51S's and I want to see how XY works out for me. After reading up and asking lots of questions on these mics it seems that the frequncy response is around 60 degrees (correct me if I'm wrong) Now my question is should I keep them flat or turn them on there side to try and eliminate crowd chatter?  Since the A51S's laying flat respond like say a duck with it's mouth open (silly analogy I know but it's the best I can come up with) it seems that if I keep them flat it will pick up more of what is below the stand and if I put them on there sides it would get more of what is higher up. Does this  make sense? Here is a pic of what I mean by laying them on there sides(these are not mine I found this pic on another thread) (http://www.taperssection.com/yabbse/attachments/DCP00955.jpg)
