I started watching this video ready to press the "back" button, but when "M/S Stereo" was mentioned, I kept watching. It's an interesting idea - off the top of my head I'm not aware of anything with quite this feature set. In fact I can't think of a wireless stereo mic even. For instance the venerable H2N does MS recording but it's not wireless remote controlled. The video integration may not be of much interest here but given that the best place for sound at a gig is often not the best place for video, well, it does cover that scenario.

Aside from iOS only, subscription required for 12 months, and magnetic mount its an interesting device for songwriters. I emailed asking who manufactures the microphones.

Indeed the subscription part is unusual - unique? - but only applies to certain features. A bit Adobe-like... could this be the start of a new business model for devices? Hmmm.

I’ve conversed with a representative for the company and they told me that the device can record locally via an SD card. This was wayyyy before they started garnering a bigger following so I’m not too sure if that’s true. Would be kinda cool if it is though.

"MEMORY - 32 GB / 40 hrs of 48kHz wav files
Lossless stereo audio is recorded directly to internal memory on the mic and automatically transferred wirelessly to the app after recording."

With the subscription you will pay around $450 for two years of use and and only on the second half of first year and second year you will be able to use the pro features.
It’s a lot of money for a promise of something that might not arrive as scheduled. Or at all.
Subscribe for a third year? The cost is getting out of hand in my opinion.
