Oade 7 pin Question

I bought an Oade 7 pin in YS, but need a tutorial on it.  What is the difference in the "Y" in/outputs? One is red and the other is plain.

I have my M1 > Oade 7 pin > SPDIF In on my SB Audigy 2 Soundcard and am not seeing anything feeding into it. (setting up to do transfers)

On my device controls on the soundcard I set the Digital Input on AC-3 Spdif in decode...not sure if that is right.

I just got my M1 back from Pro Digital completely serviced, so I know there is no issues with it.

plain is the in and red is the out, if I remember correctly.

I had a Oade active cable that went bad and needed repairing one time after I plugged it into a RadioShak patch bay.......I still use the analog side of the device on occasion, but I have put black tape over the yellow side so others don't get their 7-pin cable fried like I did................ >:(

So, they really do go bad once in a while...Oade fixed it for $40, I think.......

Make sure that the analog and digital are set to the proper setting for the grey plug at the base.  Don't know if all the oade models have this but my pro digital one did.

Hmmm...I don't think my cable has a switch on it, the 7-pin end, unless there is something I need to open up.

If you don't have a switch you have the "passive" cable.  The active cable had the switch
