Post by: drivingwheel on January 06, 2013, 02:54:19 PM
I'm out of town and down to one power source for 3 ua-5s...and forgot my charger >:x

Adaptatip M. the UA-5 is reverse polarity (tip negative) so flip the Adaptatip adapter.

Radioshack's 9V Universal power supply with the M tip will work if you have access to AC.

You can use 9V RC car batteries as well.  I believe they should sell them at Radio Shack too.

I've read 7-12 volts works, so a 9.6 RC battery is good. Radio shack's RC Charger + Battery combo is 1600 mAh. That's 3.5 hours with the UA-5's 450 mAh draw (at least that's the rating of the official supply)

Jeremy, where are you now?  Maybe you could borrow some power gear from another taper?

this is what I'm rolling with; got one with a charger for like $14.99 at the Rat Shack - seems like it'll roll good.

en route now, so we'll find out soon!!
