Edirol R4 won't usb mount?
« on: September 14, 2011, 04:23:06 PM »
I know this is a vague question but maybe someone has a quick answer...

My R4 is not mounting on my macbook via usb.  I was using photorec, trying to recover files... unmounted the drive for a while, but now the hard drive won't show up on my computer.  I tried "checking" and "scanning" the drive from the recorder itself... didn't help the usb issue.  I'm sure a format will solve my problem, but I need to pull files from the drive before I do this.

Anyone have any ideas before I start copying all my files through the spdif output?  I don't have a CF card that is 2gb, just a 4 gb card that doesn't seem to work in the recorder.

Thanks.

The first thing I would try would be to plug it into another computer, mac or pc, to help isolate the problem to either the R4 or the computer and potentially save your files.
