hey bean, just to let you know, 8x dvd burning vs 8x cd burning is completly different. dvd burning is much faster. i burn a single layer dvd-r at 2x in 30 mins. thats 4.7gbs in 30 minutes, you can't write 4.7gbs to cdrs in 30 mins. its different, i don't know how to explain it, but just believe me that its different.
also, i've yet to see any dvd media that is 8x-16x that is reletively cheap and dual layered stuff is even more. i've also found +r media to be more abundant in stores like best buy, but the normal price is usally more expensive then -r. also, -r works in everything, +r works in select things. if you're just using them as data disc and not backing up movies, it really shouldn't matter cuz your dvd burner will read anything...but i'd stick to -r for videos. thats just me tho...and most people that post on
www.dvdrhelp.com agree.
also, i'd never burn a dvd at 16x, but thats just me. i'd prefer to have a quality burn over a fast burn. i won't go over 4x, and for important stuff i stick at 2x.
maybe i'm just paranoid tho.
