A/D Advice
« on: July 23, 2005, 10:50:13 AM »
A friend has offered to transfer some of my zillions of master and low gen cassettes from the 80's that I know I likely will never get time to deal with - he has a gooc quality cassette deck but needs advice on soundcard or external A/D with USB/firewire interface, as his computer only presently has the A/D in his stock audio card...anyone have any advice on options that are worthy quality for the task?  He didn't give me a budget for the upgrade but I assume he doesn't want to break the bank...I guess approximate prices with various options would help him make a decison which way to go.

Thanks in advance.

not sure if this is an option, but let him borrow your rig, too... ad2k -> VxPocket to transfer those cassettes at 24/48 would be sweet.
