Title: ISO: someone to do Reel to Reel Transfers
Post by: twatts (pants are so over-rated...) on November 21, 2016, 11:36:06 AM
I inherited (5) GD Reels from a friend in the Transfer Tapes Business...  I'd like to get them Transferred.  Anyone want to pull these tapes for us???

I'm trying to find out some background on these RtRs as I type this...  I'll add more info as I get it...

Thanks,

Terry

Pix added...

Not sure of their lineage, but these are more than likely copies (not Masters).

My friend told me he got them on EBAY.  I think he bought them more for nostalgia value than anything else...

I'm not sure if any of it is worth saving...

The Honolulu 1/23/70 was just recently released as Dave's Picks 19.

Yeah, but do they sound as nice as my dusty old unknown gen Reels that my friend found on EBAY???  Doubtful!

Oh wait, who am I kidding?!?

Thanks for the info!

I'm suspect of those labels/set lists, have you listened to them?  :hmmm: I am sure someone could have put new labels on them well after the fact, but not a deadhead. The shows are interesting sample too, at least you didn't buy them, I hope the best though.

I also have a RtR. The Hawaii show isn't on the Archive. No source info? I agree, they probably are copies, simply because I doubt someone would have been able to get a machine capable of handling 7" reels into a show. Not the security so much as the physical difficulty in doing it. My TEAC deck weighs about 25 pounds.
