if i understand correctly, unless its going to sum the power down to 5v, you could fry the jb3.

i could be wrong, tho.

good luck!

I normally just find a power jack to plug into at the venue if using a Nomad.
In camden that's probably not possible.

If your using a 9.6v RC batt....this is not a good idea. Pretty sure it will fry the JB3

the PowerRunner is your best friend when it comes to powering the jb3.  It has numerous voltage settings on it.  Works WONDERFULLY with the jb3.  I also use it to power my d8 when I feel like running DAT.

I got a couple of these from Woot (two for tuesday for something like $14 for 2) and love them.  You just plug your wall wart into them and they power my JB3 just fine.  It has both a normal 110v power plug and a USB out regulated to 5v. When I get a chance I am going to hack a USB cable and use it to power my JB3, since 5v is what the JB3 looks for.

You should be able to use a PSP USB power cable to connect a JB3 to a USB battery

Ok...how/where would I find one of those?  I need external power for my JB3 too & I'm not very good with making stuff.  Any suggestions?
