Just curious how well people (Moke?) think it would work to use sub-cards with a J-disk.  Many think that Red Rocks is not served well with omnis, but that sub-cards work well.  I'm wondering what would happen if you tried a J-disk set of sub-cards on the Rocks.

interesting thought.

I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

when i buy the omni caps for my AT's this summer, i think im gonna invest a j-disk, it just seems to good not to use and from listening to you comments on it the past 6 months mike, i think the seperation and sound quality coming from that thing is gonna be off the hook

I've been lazy with the j-disk because it just seems like more shit to carry.

critically palced omni's are for single diaphragm omnis, not intended for dual d. LD's.
J-Disc it! amazing results!!

I'm still a bit confused as to why this is true. why does the fact that the LD's utilize two diaphragms to achieve the omni pattern matter?

okay, thanks for the picture. so do SD omni caps not pickup a true 360* soundfield because of the housing of the cap and the body?

that's what it looks like...

yes, j-disc in close parking gigs! I'm not carrying that thing all over red rocks... but the local jazz club I will.

Perhaps best described as an imperfect orb, or an orb with a slight, slight dent. Almost perfect with a blemish.
