4023 mounting?
« on: November 30, 2004, 02:41:15 PM »
I just got a pair of DPA 4023's and I am wondering what everyone uses to mount them. I have the DPA ORTF bar, but I will not always be close enough for the ORTF bar.

So I was curious to hear some advice on what to use to mount my mics.  Any and all ideas are welcomed.

Thanks

I third the combo mount bar. I use 4021s. You can use the DPA CSM4000 mounts if you want more flexibility.
Out of the game … for now?

Most of the time I'll be in a small club and too far back for the ORTF bar.  Do you guys always use the ORTF bar in every situation?

thanks

About anywhere from 20' 50' back.  If I am in the back with my mics in ORTF they point way out to the sides of the club and the mics aren't really aiming at the stacks.

I thought that you could use that bar for XY90 also (at least the B&K ORTF bar I used was also an XY90 mount).

use the xy mount instead, the mount does both.

I can use the XY mount but I don't like the sound of cards in XY.  I am looking for mounts and t-bar to aim at the stacks, and didn't want to buy the schoeps bar or the DPA bar.  Anyone know of a cheaper t-bar for small mics like the DPA's?

get yourself some dpa mic mounts, a vark bar and a schoeps schockmount to mount it in....

vark bar: http://posthorn.com/Macvk_4.html

I dont understand why more people dont use the vark bar...weighs nothing and has the same functionality as the heavy ass Shure bar

My buddy uses 4023's and just recently got the Schoeps M 100 C Microphone Bar, but it's pricey at $225.

Like others have said you can also achieve the same results with a Vark bar, but he had trouble finding a Vark bar in stock.
