I got the 3506 kit (4006TL's plus gadgets) with matched sequential mics through Sweetwave.  They were fast, easy to deal with and got me a pretty good price.  If you have not yet bought your kit you could give them a call.  They are just down the street from DPA-USA.

Cheers

Here we go again!
DPA is hitting us with a price increase which goes into effect on Feb. 15, 2008.  They have even increased the matching fee from $180.00 to $265.00!

That's a damn good price.  Are they matched?

yes, matched and like Moke said, comes with XY/ORTF mount, shockmount, windscreens, magnetic mounts, and gooseneck mounts! witch can come in handy. I'm so psyched to get the case full of goods on the 13th. I thought that the price was right.

the stereo kits are matched stereo pairs, in a kit box, w/ multiple extra accessories.

Correct, Moke.  I was asking for clarification out of disbelief that he got such a great deal on them.

So when deciding b/t the 4023 and the others w/ attached cable, what are the pros and cons for those that have used them a lot?

I have heard that the 4021 connection is the least durable of the three types.

Remember that the 4023 cable sticks out more and is slightly bigger than the 4022, this may or may not be important to you depending on how you are planning to mount your caps.

The biggest pro for me is being able to stealth with 3 ft of cable instead of 15 ft. Without that feature, I would just run 4022s instead.

well the 4021's have the smallish right angled cable, so they are very discreet, the big advantage of the 4023's is the lemo connectors between the cables and the caps, making break down and set up a snap since the caps can remain in the connectors/shockmounts for storage

lynchie - Would you mind posting pics of the 4023 next to the 140 cap and cable? I'm curious which one sticks out more.

From the specs the 4023 is a full inch longer than schoeps actives and nearly an inch longer than the 4022.

4023 -
Microphone length:
30 mm (1.18 in); 71 mm (2.8 in) (incl. connector)

4022 -
Microphone length:
35 mm (1.38 in); 52 mm (2 in) (incl. cable relief)

4021 -
Microphone length:
31mm (1.22 in)

schoeps mk21 + kc5 = 1.797"

Thats a great price. I got my 3523 kit from DPA. I guess I should have contacted a few retailers to check pricing. ???
