Newbie here!
I've got a Sony M10 and I'll soon have a shiny new pair of Audio Technica omnis. I'll mainly be using these for amplified acoustic music, and I'm wondering about a couple of things.
I know I need a battery box, but should I shell out a few extra bucks for one with bass roll-off, or is that really only a concern for louder concerts? I've been reading a lot of discussions around here and I seem to have picked up conflicting information, but I could just be missing some of the more technical nuances. I was under the impression that roll-off runs the risk of leaving you with too little bass, but then someone else suggested using roll-off with omnis.
Secondly: Once I have all the necessary elements, should I plug into the mic input or the line-in? Again, what I've read in the M10 thread seems to suggest that I should use the mic input with just a battery box and the line-in with a preamp, but I could be getting that all wrong - and I'd really love to not overload my recorder.
Thanks!
