I like mine. It works great. I may migrate to using the jb3 line-out.  :)

Mine works great as well, although I seem to be getting not so hot battery life from a NiMH rechargable 9V.

Any of you SVU-x users out there noticed how the meter seems to go off calibration when the battery is dying (to the point the LEDS are fading)?
Governor Jim McGreevey was equally disturbed about the upcoming population increase. "New Jersey cannot support all of these wookies," he said. "For starters, we don't have nearly enough kindbud. At best, we can muster up a Q.P. of some beasties, but we've not a dime-bag more."

How do you all go about calibrating before a show?  I'll most likely get new mics soon and will need to recalibrate, just wondering if anyone had some cool tips.

New mics will not effect the calibration.  The SVU-1 is monitoring the output of the UA5 (or line out of the JB3).  The UA5 will stay calibrated w/ the JB3 reguardless of what you have infront of it.

FWIW i went from mk012's to 480's and didn't have to mess w/ the SVU-1.

I have never had batery problems because I run it off my ua-5 batts.  it is simple to do by using a 9v bat connector wired backwards, wired through the body of the battery case, and pusing it tight to the end of the case with a wood block, or folded cardboard (I used cardboard with tape on the ends).  Then wire the 9v battery connector (don't forget backwards) to a conector and make a splitter in parallel ( that is positive to positive and negative to negative) to both your devices, I split mine 3 ways to use a hacked car daptor for my jb3.

I do think taping is the reality of the business..it is also an impetus for artists to create studio CDs that are ART, not just another recording...    Fareed Haque  2-4-2005
