A/D Would this work?? UA5>JB3

Stumbled on this

Has anyone seen one of these?  Know if there are more like it?  Can it be powered remotely?  Would it work for UA5>JB3?

im not sure if it could be battery powered, it say 110v, 9v... but doesnt specify AC or DC power

theoretically it owuld work if you could power it.... im sure there are some better options for a little more cash

what are you trying to take from analog > digital?

It has a wall wart so most likely it's 9 volts DC....so it can be powered in the field.

I bought an factory Edirol UA5 last year before i knew of the Mods.  I don't want to mod this one because I don't own it any more.  (my roomate bought it from me)  So until i have the money to buy a digimod UA5 i wanted to convert the singnal to digital to go into the JB3.  Is this not smart?  Should i just go analog?

At that price the converter is probably no better than the onboard of the jb3.

I'd bet you would not see an audible improvement with it.

Plus, I see nothing on the box that would allow you to adjust input levels -- thus, this would only work behind an adjustable gain pre -- once that's factored in, I'd bet a ua5 would be cheaper.

Probably wouldn't hear an audible improvement either.   ;D
