Title: Newbie question on low sensitivity mod for Audio Technica Slimline mics?
Post by: DancyGeorgia on June 03, 2013, 12:51:00 AM
I have a Sony PCM-M10 and want to get the SP-CMC-8 - Sound Professionals - Premium Audio Technica Slimline Stereo Microphones for stealth recording at pop/rock concerts. Usually I am fairly close to the stage. Should I get the option:

"Change straight connector to a right angle connector and add the low sensitivity modification for recording very loud sounds with a microphone power supply above"

Or go with the normal mic sensitivity?

After searching this forum, I've pretty much decided to get the omni mics and the SP-SPSB-10  power supply with no bass roll-off (I am a computer nerd, so doing filtering in post-processing is no big deal for me). But I'm not sure about the mic sensitivity option.

Thanks for your help? This is my 1st post, so please let me know if I've posted in the wrong thread.
