Title: converting music library from wma lossless to FLAC and migrating to Linux
Post by: weroflu on October 10, 2010, 08:24:24 AM
saying goodbye to windows.

i have about 250G of music files, already backed up onto one usb drive.

first off does anyone know how to get gstreamer working with wma lossless. apparently the newest version will handle this but it is only sourcecode and i am a newbie to linux.

next i want to find a good online backup server to  upload my collection to. i have never done this so i would like a good recommendation.

i assume all the metadata and artwork will be preserved in the coversion process. i used dbpoweramp in windows and it seemed to be fine, but if anyone has suggestions on how to do this smoothely, please let me know.

wondering what the fastest way to do this will be?
