Title: Cleaning Cables

What's the best way to clean/defunk cables?  My XLRs absolutely reek of cigarette smoke.

i spray some windex into a paper towel and run it down the length, then rinse with water in the same fashion.

febreeze...  all the way...

edit: and yes contact cleaner works well, i also have used rubbing alcohol to clean the contacts as well..

gasoline, nail polish remover, acetone and anything else that will desolve the protective layer.

i echo others here. Radio Shack sells cheap $ contact cleaner sprays.  just undo the xlrs and give it a good spray and wipe it down.
