Title: 1/4 on the SBM
Post by: pnobles on April 25, 2004, 07:07:22 PM
so i recorded a gig last night for the UD vocal group, the del tones and i was checking levels and such during their sound check and came into a problem with my SBM.

The sound man offered a 1/4 patch from the board which i ran into the 1/4 jacks.  well i listened to soundcheck and all i heard was distortion from the SMB-1.  I then ran into the RCA's and it sounded fine.  this was my first time running into the 1/4 jacks ( so i never really use them )  but any ideas on the problem?  I check the mic in / line in switch and all that stuff.
thanks

Is it a mod sbm-1?  I believe Doug "disables" the 1/4 ins on the mods....

I believe the SBM-1's 1/4" inputs are mic-in, so the SBD signal probably overloaded the analog input stage.  Or, they're disabled...but in that case I would expect to hear, well...nothing.

no mod.   and it would make sense that they over loaded with mic in because i was going board in, which i bet had a hot signal...thanks all!
