what are you patching from?

I would assume an analog rca or mini out.  iphone has no audio input jack.  It would have to go in where the charger goes.  Anyone use a blue tooth with an iphone?  Would have to be something along those lines I'm assuming.

That cable is most likely an output cable.

Problem I see is that most recording devices for ipod/iphone probably interface them just for storage w/o actually allowing a streaming application to retransmit the data.

I think what they are selling is a cable that connects your iPhone/iPod to your ALPINE JVC SONY Car Stereo with RCA Inputs.  It would make sense as ALPINE only makes Car Stereos and 12V Input is standard DC Car Voltage - so you can charge/Power your iPhone/iPod while it's plugged in.

The only thing I know of is some Belkin adapter that plugs into the proprietary jack and has a miniplug input jack.  But that's probably linked in the above post.  :P

Because it's Apple and Jobs told them they could.  :P

I think the idea in the original question would be to take the line-out of your normal rig and stream to ustream via iphone w/o needing to involve a laptop.
