Minidv tape stuck in camcorder, help appreciated
« on: July 06, 2010, 03:15:16 AM »
Hey all,

The other night I was shooting a show with my pv-gs35 minidv camcorder when the thing overheated and shut off. It will not power on now, or eject the tape when attached to a power source. Do you guys know where i could get this camcorder repaired, or the tape removed at the very least. I would rather not tinker with it myself, since i am very clumsy with tiny screws, and would probably destroy the thing worse than it is.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Sounds like its dead, but there should be a reset button it is very small and you will need a paperclip to push it.

Saying cuss words and Sony in the same sentence doesn't usually solve the problem, but it does help you mentally.

Did find a place that will hopefully be able to remove the tape and repair the camera though
