Bluetooth mics to smartphone?
« on: April 10, 2013, 12:18:27 PM »
First, I was wondering if there are any good bluetooth microphones available for recording live music? If so, has anyone tried to pair them up with a smartphone and record a concert? It seems like this would be an easy way to record while not having to necessarily be right next to your mics. This set-up could also make recording stealthily a bit easier. Thoughts?

I think most bluetooth microphones are vocal mics with a really tight frequency bandwidth. Moreover, most phones use crappy encodings when recording audio (codecs like m4a) so both factors point to a no-no situation methinks.
