Title: "windshield" to AKG CK61/63
Post by: Jonas Karlsson on April 27, 2015, 08:21:38 AM
Hello!

Just got the Schoeps B1 to use with my AKG CK's as some sort of windshield when stealthing.

But, they are a bit longer than the actual capsule, and the question is - do I want to cut the B1 to fit the capsule 100% or do I want an empty part "with air" on the top while using the mics outdoors?

I know these aren't actually more than a dustcover, but I thought I'd try these out when stealthing to keep clear of dust and dirt at festivals etc.

/Jonas

I don't think the air space will bother the mics sound at all.  Probably just bother you more.

I think it is best to have the air space fwiw. Whenever I use windscreens I always pull the screen back up slightly after contacting the face of the capsule.
