For people who are running these batteries w/ a UA-5, how many hours are you getting? How long to charge back up? Right now I have 3 1800mAH Rat Shacks that work great. Gonna be hitting Bumbershoot up here in Seattle and it is my first festival. Four days, probably 5-6 hours of taping a day. The problem is not having enough juice, but having enough time each night to recharge all 3 batteries as I only have the one charge. Trying to decide whether to drop the money on a 3000mAh which would be great for Bumbershoot but more than I would normally use or just get an extra charger.

If the UA-5's drain is 450mAh, then you can expect to get roughly 6.5 hours from a fully charged 3000mAh battery (3000/450).
They include a 200mAh charger with the battery, so it takes 15 hours to go from fully drained to fully charged. Any higher capacity 9.6v charger retrofitted with the right plug would charge it faster, but you'd have to be careful not to overcharge/cook the cells. A 400mAh charger would charge the battery in 7.5 hours.
You'd prolly want to pick up 2 3000's, use one while the other is recharging at home/hotel. Then swap for the next day and so forth. Maybe keep your 1600's as spares *just in case*.

Don't forget the RAT SHAK batts are NiCd right (mine is)...they have memory...meaning full dishcharge required. So consider the options of buying another charger Vs buying the 3ah batts. Run time and ability to drain it down...maybe take an RC car W/you and drain it down...then yuo'll have more capacity when charging. ?????
