Help with an AD1000
« on: November 04, 2003, 04:21:15 PM »
My buddy Hampton is fooling around with an ad1k and needs some help

I seem to be having problems with an ad1000!  I am running
km184 into the ad1000 and the unit is picking up music from
the mics and processing it, but it is having problems sending
it to my deck.  I keep receiving "no input" on my
deck and have tried everything to correct but to no avail.
My 7 pin and digi-cables both work fine, but I am afraid that
there may be a problem with the 12 pin (hopefully not) or
something internal. If it is the problem, are ther any quick
fixes.  I have heard that the ad1000 sometimes has problems
"locking" onto the deck which would create the no
input.  Any help in fixing the problem would be very
appeciated!

we figured out that its a coax problem in the 12 pin, one of the two wires is unsoldered.  Does it matter which connnection you solder the coax onto the 12pin(the 12pin has a bunch of joints are there a specific 2 or will it work no matter which one you solder it 2)

just an fyi - if it's a word clock issue the sample rate light on the front will scroll and not lock
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

I loved my ad500e... I actually wish I could come up with a little extra scratch to buy an ad1000 to keep around!

actually none... but I do own:

2 schoeps shirts, with the schoeps logo on the left breast and "Life is Full of Important Choices" over the logo, on the back are all of the schoeps caps and a big schoeps logo

2 neumann t-shirts and a neumann polo

I think that's it...

oh and Damon, don't hate the playa... hate the game... It's not my fault your a/d sounds like McConnell's guitar.. thin and bright.
