hopefully this is the proper place for this, but newegg has the Transcend 4gig SD cards for $57 right now (that is after the $30 rebate)

I believe this is the Transcend card people have had good experience with using in the R-09

I have yet to lose any music using the Transcend 4GB card and firmware v1.03. So I believe it's a pretty stable card to use with the R-09.

However, I hadn't passed the 2GB size issue in over a month until last night. When I got back to the car and saw my 2hr 15 min file was displaying as 0:01 sec, I had forgotten that is the expected case and didn't get to verify the file was okay til I got back to the hotel 2 hrs later. Luckily, all I had to do was run the 2GB+ file thru audiohack to fix it. I didn't have to edit the header using ultraedit.

I wrapped a black wrist band around the R-09 and my battery box last night.  Not only kept the two pieces together, but I would estimate it blocked out at least 95% of the red recording light.

I just bought a 2GB Corsair 60x SD card that has worked out perfectly in the 5 recordings I've done.  All were at 16/44.1.

can't comment too much on the type of card (officially) supported, but I haven't had any problems using my Sandisk 2gig (50x) or my Transcend 4gig (150x) card. Albeit both cards have only been used once......


Would like to comment though on the R-09 does accept files (when copied from your computer) other than in .WAV format.  I've copied flac's and text files to it no problem. Works just the same as a USB memory card (expensive one that is)


Also, with the new recorder, I've been able to "slim down" my stealthing techiniques. I've got it down to no fanny pack at all is needed, every thing is either in a pants pocket, belt clippped to my belt, then in my shirt pocket.

Does anyone know of any slow speed high capacity cards? I'm running a 150x 4GB Transcend card, so far it's worked flawlessly, but with media prices essentially crashing, I'd like to pick up a second high capacity card before next summers festival season.

I haven't had any problems using my Sandisk 2gig (50x) or my Transcend 4gig (150x) card.

While I've had no problems with either of my 4 GB Transcend cards, I ran into a weird problem both times I've used my 2GB Sandisk card.

Both the meters and the time recorded counter temporarily freeze every 10 seconds, for about 2 to 3 seconds each time. There's been zero problems with the recordings themselves, but watching the display the 1st time definitely freaked me out. Has anyone else had this happen?

Also, I've ran into the 0:01 second file error about half a dozen times, but Spark XL 2.8 has opened the file with no problems every time. So no header errors to report here...

The last time I got a :01 second file, I was able to open it in cdwav on the PC without having to fix the headers. So I don't believe it's a header issue, it's just a bug on the R-09 not being able to display or play the file back.

I actually had the header issue.  Nothing would open it.  Turned out it was off by one byte... just had to add that to the beginning of the fiile.
