Either way, they would be beyond your available budget - at least if you were buying new. You would also have to factor in additional accessories (active cables and battery box). So you would either need to save longer, look for other options or buy used (e.g. in the Yard Sale).
The cheapest brand new set for mint DPA 4061 Core Mics that I have seen in Germany is currently 1089 € (otherwise about 1200 €). Other options from Europe would be MBHO (similar in modularity to Schoeps, but again you would need active cables and a battery box - which would also be beyond your budget), LineAudio CM4 (within your budget, small for full-bodied mics - therefore good for open taping - but possibly too big for stealth) or any of the Lom Uši mics (possibly too sensitive for heavy metal,. They are more suitable for field recording). Used from the yard sale possibly AT-853 cardioids (or the SP-CMC-4U from Sound Professionals based on them) with a battery box.

My go to mics these days are some paired Sennheiser ME104 cardioids ..
just add a bbox and you are ready to go.
currently I have both available for sale
and located in Europe
HealthCov Chris:
Line Audio CM4 seems to be a popular option in that price range these days.

Soundfield ST450 would be a great pairing with the H1. Can make all your decisions when you get home.

With the AT-853s you also have the option of buying omni caps that you could swap out in situations where you don't need as directional a pickup pattern. New from Sound Pros this would come to $290 for the mics + $80 for the additional caps + $80 for a SP-SPSB-10 battery box, so that's within your range, assuming you can find an EU source.
