Title: Tascam DR-60D question...
Post by: Dan33185 on April 09, 2023, 10:30:14 PM
I just bought a Tascam DR-60D and have a question about the hold function. When "Hold" is enabled, will that prevent sound levels from being adjusted if the knobs are accidentally bumped? It says in the manual "All buttons are inoperative when HOLD is on", but it doesn't say if that extends to the volume knobs as well.

I'm pretty sure it means that when the recorder is on "hold" and you're knobs are bumped nothing will happen, But when you take the hold setting off the levels will move to where those "bumped" knobs are now at.

That's what happens with the DR70D!

Ok, that makes sense, good to know!

I have another question which may have a simple answer, but I can't figure it out. Is there a way to save my settings when I power it off and remove any power source? Basically everything goes back to default when I power it off, including date, recording settings, recording volume, etc.

I know for a fact the DR-60 won't keep the date/time settings active unless you keep batteries in it. Other Tascam recorders (the DR-701D comes to mind) will save that setting w/o batteries in it.
But I'm pretty sure if you had it set to record at 16/48 for example, that setting ought to stay the same. Recording volume/level and phantom power on/off is a manually manipulated setting controlled by the external knobs/buttons.
