Title: 4 channel w/ r-4 track split
Post by: Big Perm on June 20, 2010, 04:18:13 PM
when i am recording 4 channel with my r4, after 1hr 2min and some seconds, it starts a new track for each of the 4 mono channels.  I read in the manual, that there is a 2 gig limit which makes perfect sense, but wouldn't 2 gig give me more time than that. im recording at 24/48.  I might just have the settings wrong, i just got the damn thing.  if so, how do i change that? any help is appreciated

What are the actual sizes of the file(s)?

I'm guessing you have the R-4 configured for 4 x 1 instead of 4 x mono.  4 x 1 puts all 4 tracks into a single file, which at 24/48 would hit the 2 GB mark in just over an hour.  4 x mono would take ~4 hrs for the each of the 4 mono files to hit the 2 GB mark.
