Title: Using Sony ECM-719 Mics with Edirol R-09 Settings
Post by: Edirolover on October 09, 2006, 11:19:24 AM
What would be the best settings to use a Sony ECM-719 microphone with the Edirol R-09? ???

I have used this mic before with the Sony PCM M1 DAT (settings: plug-in power, 44.1 kHz, SP, manual levels) with good results.

I have tried similar settings with the Edirol R-09, but the levels are way lower in comparison. I'm surprised, since the R-09 offers plug-in power as well.

What is better? ???
a) Mic: internal LR battery off, so using plug-in power and HIGH mic gain settings?
b) Mic: internal LR battery on, so not using plug-in power but using LOW gain settings? (but low levels even when input maxed out at 30!)

What would the experts advise?
Thank you.  8)
