Title: Recovering sample mismatched file
Post by: BC on July 21, 2003, 06:21:04 PM
Hey All-

This past weekend I had my recording program (Vegas 2.0) set to
record at 24 bit/48KHz, but unfortunately my Lunatec V3 was set to
output 88.2 KHz. Playback of the recording shows it to be all static
although the waveform actually looks normal. Is there any way for me
to recover the music? (probably not, but I figured it was worth
seeing if any of you out there have had the same problem)

Peace,
Ben

Seems to be pretty much fucked due to the sample rate mismatch. Basically, the computer was recording samples that were the equivalent of 1.8375 actual samples. The static upon playback is the result of not being able to resolve that. If you had done the opposite, recorded higher than you were feeding it, I think it might be recoverable.
