Title: dmic question?

i've got a dmic here, and was wondering if there is a way to power this with a power runner battery instead of an ecocharge. i have the ecocharge 4 pin batt cable but no batt. is there an addapter to go between the batt i have and the dmic. thanks guys.

I don't know much about the power runner batteries, but the power connector to the dmic is Switchcraft part #S760K.  You buy one of those, some cable and whatever you need to connect to the power runner, make your own cable and you'd be set.

the dmic needs 6v of power correct?

well, if the powerrunner supplies 6v, it will work, just put the appropiate power plug on and youre golden

I have one and always thought it was 6v and 6v only.  But I'm now reading the manual and it says:

"For portable SoundPals power sources, sealed lead-acid, nickel cadmium or alkaline primary batteries may be used.  However, the maximum voltage must not exceed 8.6 volts, and a minimum of 5.6 volts is required for normal operation"

I suppose if this is the case you could also run them off the el cheapo 7.2v RC car batteries?  Certainly lighter than lead.

yep, sounds like 7.2v rc batts would work, i use 12 x 3000mah of them and theyve been FINE w/ my leegeddy VRBox to run the v3/jb3 setup

How well does that plug into the dmic's threaded power jack?  Does it feel loose at all?

If it seems to work ok, I'll probably go pick up one and an rc battery.  Certainly smaller and lighter than the switchcraft screw-on plug and lead batteries.

it is actually pretty snug. take the dmic to radio shack. they had all of the plugs on a chain. tou can test it there before buying. good luck
