i'm wondering why you guys are talking about 1/4" into the UA-5. Wouldn't you want to run XLR into the UA-5?

you could but the 822 comes with an xlr to 2 1/4" mono cable so I was just gonna use that.

I don't know how much a 822 costs, but I do have a pair of at853 cards terminated to mini xlr's for $175 for sale.   :D
