iHP-120 problem after recording : Need HELP!!
« on: August 13, 2008, 06:15:55 AM »
Hi,

I need your help please. Here's what happened to me during the week-end :

I was taping a show using that rig : SP CMC-2>iHP-120.
After the show, while i was pressing "stop", my finger accidently pressed the "a/b" button. I thought the show would be recorded but i does not appear while browsing my iHP-120.
BUT, when the recorder is plugged to my computer, the file appears to be 920mb. I tried to read it with my media player, but it says "there's no file".
SO, I guess there's a way to recover that corrupt file, isn't it??

Do you have any tips to get my file back, please??

Thanks in advance for all input ;)
Guillaume

I actually did it a different way, I think opening it in CD Wave and resaving it? In any case you should be OK - let us know!

My H120 is in the naughty corner for shutting down during a particularly good show, and waiting for me to finish working on all the shows it's taped, after which it's getting a reformat.

Tks a lot for your reply...
BUT, I've downloaded the program, and it does not work on my computer  ??? :-\ ...maybe that's xp causing problems. I'll try with another pc.

Quote
1) unzip the app to the same dir as your file
2) It runs from a command-line, so you'll need to get to a command prompt in windows by clicking on 'start' then 'run'.  Type 'cmd'. Click 'ok'
3) In the black window that opens, navigate to the directory your file is in.  (You change directories by typing 'cd <directory name>').
4) Once you're in the correct directory get the exact file size and name by typing 'dir'.
4) Now type 'Repair <filename> <filesize>'

BUT, now here's the problem : i do not have any black window that opens
Is there any other program that could help me??

Thanks in advance

Semayat, I just emailed you a copy of a little program I've used with success.  Hopefully it will work for you.

Yes, tks a lot
BUT, when I do follow what you've mentionned and nothing happens  :-\

I can import the files in .raw format into goldwave, but i do not how to convert into a proper .wav file.
The fact is that .raw file is totally unlistenable, just like it was a slow .wav file.

So your saying that you hear audio but it's slow?  That's due to wrong sampling rate when you choose to open the raw file...

You recorded at 16 bits and 44.1 kHz... Open the file with these attributes and all SHOULD be well. Then SAVE AS a 16/44.1 WAV file on your hard drive...

I've opened the file with Goldwave (.raw) and resampled it to .wav.
