Title: another UA5 question
Post by: leehookem on June 17, 2004, 12:44:34 PM
i just got a UA5 (thanks BCostigan!), and I have just about everything figured out.  The only thing that still confuses me is the Monitor switch.  Do I need this on or off, will I ever use it?
AKG C1000S, XLR, wUA5, JB3.

monitor switch is to turn the headphone amp on and off, i believe.  unless you are checking your signal with a headphone system, i don't think it needs to be on.

Bingo..not sure how much power that function uses but I always turn it off to conserve.

I actually leave mine on because that is how I have my settings calibrated for on my LED meters(don't ask me, I don't know why the hell that has an effect on the RCA outputs).

Same here... if I turn down the headphone then my VU meter's settings go out of whack
