mic posistion - next to stage
« on: January 30, 2004, 05:06:43 PM »
Hello-

Somehow got lucky and got one of the 1st 100 tickets for an apc show, which mean I get in 15 minutes before the masses, virutally ensuring me a spot next to the stage.

So, my question is, what would be the best position for my mics up there? I have a pair of CS cards, and I usually clip them under my shirt at my shoulders.

So yea, what would be optimum angle and whatnot to place them? Thanks in advance...

i find that close to the stage is pretty well hit or miss.  only advise i can tell you is to watch out for hte guitar amps on stage.  at a recent show i stood in front of a guitar amp, and it made for a heavy guitar-in-the-mix tape.  usually it's not so bad, this time it kinda drowned out the vocals.

if you are too close and are in the center, you will miss both stacks.  If you can't get back far enough, gravitate to one stack  I can't believe I just recommended stacking
