Title: Cable repair for SP-CMC4 (AT-853's)
Post by: The Other Chris on April 24, 2010, 03:46:46 PM
Looks like I need to have my mics fixed, appears to be a short somewhere and was wondering who may be qualified to do so.   Would like to avoid having to send them to Sound Pro since i bought them second hand.   Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks-Chris

have you isolated the short, is it in the plug or near the cap?

Why do you want to avoid sending them to Sound Pro?  I bet they'd stand behind their product, even if you're the second owner.  Or their repair fee would be cheap.

I've also had problems with the connections between cap and mic getting dirty.  This can be solved by cleaning with rubbing alcohol, they tell me. I sent mics back to them once for a "short" and it was really just that.  I should also note they had 2-day turnaround time in the NY metro area.
