Can I plug into the trs outputs on the back of an m-audio buddy and go directly to the spdif input?
if so, what cable can I use??? a double TRS to a single RCA?

no, you can't.
S/PDIF is for the transfer of a digital signal.
The M-Audio buddy is a pre-amp, and only has analog outputs. The M-Audio buddy does not have any A/D conversion capabilities, so there is no way to output a digital signal.
