KORG MR-2 configuration/Rec Setting
« on: March 15, 2013, 11:10:30 PM »
Hi tapers,

I would like to capture the warm up gig of depeche mode at the Nikaia venue in Nice (France).
While capturing the audio, i would like to capture the video too.
So, there is no time to use my recorder manualy.I tried these "presets"  (e.g."pops live house", "rock live house" and "rock hall") at a smaller venue and i get very often too high peaks (+3).I do not care, if it happens when the crowd is clapping the hands. These high peaks happens in the song.
Do I have to change at the auto level some parameters?
My settings are:

Input level: -12dB Manual [ ] Auto [×]
Auto level: Target:-8dB Inc:+2dB/s Dec:-1dB/s
Rec Start Mode: [ x ] Normal SW [ ]Pre (SW)/1s [ ]Post (SW)/0.5s [ ]Pre (Trig)/1s[ ]
TrigTresh: -24dB

Beside this... mic sense, mic low cut, limiter, bass etc... depends on the "presets" (If it is necessary, there is the oppertunity to change the values.).

What should i change to avoid these high peaks of +3 in this automatic modus?
my recorders:
KORG MR-1 with XPAL Harry II
KORG MR-2 with XPAL Harry II
ZOOM H2
