I love the TL's, great mic, but they are heavy and not the best mic for all applications. Outdoors split omni is the way to go with these, pretty much my summer mic...I stick with the mk41's when I am indoors during the winter.

You can get em used for between 900-1000 bones.  They are much smaller and lighter than the TLs...and sound better >:D

I stand by my original opinion though.  Go Neumann with the 140s,

I love my 140's, since I got the active setup I've never looked back ...

that is what i think i will get if i go the neumann active route.

that is what i think i will get if i go the neumann active route.

They sound really good.  I would still get the ak40s first because they are more flexible.
