I'm preparing to burn my first blu-ray videos. I ordered these discs:
http://www.supermediastore.com/product/u/philips-bd-r-4x-white-inkjet-hub-printable-blu-ray-recordable-media-br2i4b10f-27-10pk?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=customerInvoice&utm_source=marah
Does anyone have specific recommendations for blu-ray media that has proven to burn consistently without producing coasters?
I will be using Nero 10 for burning the discs.

I'm probably going to purchase this burner:
PLEXTOR USB 3.0 / eSATA 12X Blu-ray Disc Writer Model PX-LB950UE

Why don't you get the above and an external enclosure :)
It can burn up to 120GB on a single disc -> with BDXL media and the right ridicously expensive software.
It is only 6x with BD-R though.

I have only used Verbatim BD-R 25gb 4x. No coasters yet...

And i am burning with an external usb 2.0 BUFFALO blu ray drive. Been burning bluray with this and the verbatim for 2 years and no problems.Just make sure your encoding a conpliant file.

I've shot around 25-30 shows in HD, but still have not bought a blu-ray burner and have yet to author a blu-ray disk. In part it's because I still don't own an HD tv. But I've got the tapes/files of all the shows shot in HD, so one of these days, I'll make the jump.
Just so I understand the prices listed in the link in the first post - 25GB blu-ray disks are now selling for a little over a buck?

Verbatim Data Life Plus BD-R 50GB Double Layer DL Media. No coasters at all. Personally I would stay far away from the Phillips blank media.

I was paying about $2.20 per 25gb verbatim bluray. They may be cheaper now. But i wouldnt trust using anything besides Verbatim BD-R.

Newegg has a 20 pack of Verbatims for $30.99 with free shipping. That's a little over a buck and a half.

Has the Phillips blank media been problematic in the past?
